Shibari: the Japanese art of bondage. You already understand the power of how liberating this can be; this is why you'd like to learn more in a workshop.

Whether you want to indulge in this with your partner or lover and deepen your ability to trust, or whether you want to build self-confidence by taking the role of the rigger (the one who ties): Shibari touches upon many layers within us. It helps us grow.

Let's just start with some basics

Shibari is about…

Just imagine… your lover and you in a safe and playful setting. Feeling their warmth. Their love. Their embrace. Imagine how the ropes become an extension of their arms holding you lovingly. You can completely let go of everything. Thoughts, expectations, control. All you need to do is...trust.

A basic workshop for curious lovers

Playing with ropes can expand your lovership in a beautiful way. The key with rope play is to create an experience that is fitting in a particular moment. This can be different every time.

During the workshop you'll:

  • Learn about the fundamentals of shibari
  • Receive basic knowledge you need to create safety when you engage in rope play with your partner
  • Learn and practice the most important knots you can use over and over again
  • Practice a beautiful chest harness, rope dress and leg tie
  • Get personal guidance!

I will share as much as I know and I will demo, after which you will get to practice this on your partner straight away. Learning by doing!

To support you even better!

This workshops includes a 10-video mini-course on the basic must-knows to practice shibari in a safe way!

Shibari Flavors

Shibari can be...

Is this for you?

Shibari is for the curious. The pleasure-seekers. The broken-hearted. The whole-hearted.
Let's get together and explore this beautiful art form.

A little about your facilitator

I will admit: I never had a long lasting dream of tying people up, let alone doing a workshop like this. It was something that came on my path while I was a bunny to a professional rigger. I loved the experience of being tied up. It was my own curiosity that brought me to a workshop like this one. Immediately, the ropes got a hold on me - no pun intended ;). I could feel how many layers this would touch upon. How deep this work could go. The ropes, after all, are merely a tool, an entrance...

I slowly started to explore with people in my life. I started sharing my skills publicly. People started inquiring about sessions and before I knew it, I started doing this professionally and doing a workshop at a kink retreat. I loved it, truly. So when people asked me to facilitate a workshop, I decided to listen. And here we are now. With me being super excited to do this and hoping I can transfer some of my rope joy unto you :)

"Michelle is a wonderful space holder. I could see her enthusiasm for the ropes and holding space for others. The session itself was slow and gentle; this was exactly what I needed to trust her more. It helped me to surrender into a meditative space. Michelle was great at being sensual and not sexual. There was a generous time for silent integration at the end of the session, and she was constantly present and caring. Michelle has a confident way with the ropes and creatively worked around my requests, producing a perfect session of pleasure, relaxation and expansion."
